The Sea Reel™ Kit

The Sea Reel™ Automatic Speargun reel is suitable for both Pneumatic and Band style spearguns. The reel is mounted to the speargun using tie wraps or stainless-steel screws provided and the shaft slide is slid over the shaft behind the flopper. Two 8mm I.D. Bushings, a Recoil Spring and a Rivet are provided for assembly.

The standard line length is about 16’ and an internal Stainless Steel Spring system automatically retracts the line and shaft after release. This keeps the line taut during fish retrieval and reloading. This eliminates line fouling during fish retrieval and faster reloading at depth.

Sea Reel™ Installation Instructions

Step 1
Mount the Sea Reel™ to the Speargun in the front of the gun for the greatest line reach using tie straps or wood screws. Alternately, mount the Sea Reel™ to the fore stock of the Speargun if the shaft rail, design or mechanism interferes with a front mounting approach. 3M 4200 Semi-Permanent Marine Adhesive will work as an alternate method to glue the Sea Reel™ underneath the carbon fiber and aluminum rails with shaft guides.

Step 2
Remove the flopper and slide 1st bushing, recoil spring, 2nd bushing and shaft slide over the speargun shaft. A rivet is provided to resecure the flopper to the shaft. The Kevlar line is attached to the shaft slide and the bushings and spring provide shock and recoil relief when the speargun shaft is released.

Use and Care
Rinse or immerse the Sea Reel™ in fresh water after use in salt water. For long term storage, extend the Kevlar line fully, let dry and then retract the line into the reel for storage.
